2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The E-class enters this model year with minimal changes from last years model. The E-Class is available in the E320, E320 AWD, E430, E430 AWD, E320 wagon and E320 AWD wagon. The E300 Turbo Diesel sedan is no longer available. All models are now equipped with Head Protection Curtains that cover the front and rear side windows in the event of a side collision. The dual automatic climate control in the E-Class is equipped with a REST mode which provides the passenger compartment with heat up to 30 minutes after the engine has been shut off. Standard equipment includes anti-lock brakes, 10-way power seats, the Smart Key System and a power sunroof. An optional COMMAND system, which integrates the navigation system, radio, CD and cell phone, is an available option.

1997 Toyota 4Runner

The 4Runner was completly redesigned back in 1996 and remains vitually unchanged for 1997. New for 1997, the 4Runner is available in a new 2WD Limited V6 model and the four cylinder engine recieves a distibutorless ignition system. The sequential multiport fuel injection system has been updated for greater economy and efficiency. The rear door is a one-piece lift-up for improved ease of use. A soft-chip primer has been applied to the hoods front edge and front bumper to prevent paint damage due to chipping from small rocks. The Leather Trim Package is optional on SR5 and standard on the Limited. Power and Convenience Packages are optional on the base models. A Sport Package with locking differential is available on the 4WD SR5 model.

2001 BMW 3 Series

The 2001 BMW 330 remains identical to current 328s, except for engine and brake upgrades. The 3.0L engine now replaces the 2.8L engine, providing an additional 32 horsepower. Front and rear brake rotor size is increased by one inch. A new addition to the line-up is an all-wheel drive model, the 330Xi. This AWD configuration is available only on the four-door sedan. The optional AWD Sport Package is offered for the 330Xi model, while The Sport Package is available on all models except the 330Xi. Leather bucket seats are standard on the Ci convertible. The power windows feature anti-pinch protection for safety, and the optional multi-functional steering wheel includes finger controls for cruise control, audio, and phone accessories.

2000 BMW 5 Series

The Base prices for the BMW 5 Series have not changed from the previous year, in fact BMW has added a few standard features to each of the models to improve their overall value. The Dynamic Stability Control System is now a standard feature on the 528i models. Metallic paint is now a no charge option on the 528i as well. The 540i now comes with standard Xenon headlights and Rain Sensor Wipers. All 5 Series models have available sport packages which come with sport suspension, performance tires, upgraded wheels and the M-Sport steering wheel. Another option on the BMW 5 Series is the GPS Navigation System, which includes an Onboard Computer, Emergency Call System, Geographic Disc and Automatic Ventilation System.

2000 Dodge Durango

Dodge Durango features big-rig looks to back up its off-road capability. The Durango is bigger than the Ford Explorer and other so-called compact sport-utilities, but smaller than Ford Expedition or Chevy Tahoe. It offers more room than the Explorer and can seat six people. Yet its more maneuverable than the Expedition. The Durango is a good choice for large families. Its theater-style seating arrangement gives rear passengers a view of the road ahead. The Durango is also a good choice for people who tow boats or other light to medium-sized trailer loads. Theres lots of power available from the big 5.9-liter V8, while a new 4.7-liter V8 and automatic transmission combination promise greater refinement. Dodge revised the front suspension and steering system on 4WD Durango models for 2000 in an effort to improve ride quality and responsiveness.

2000 Toyota Sienna

The 2000 Sienna is now offering fewer option packages in comparison to last years model. The dual air conditioning is standard on all models except the base CE model. Other useful features are Toyotas standard tire pressure warning system, which alerts the driver of a low pressure tire. An optional power right-side sliding door is available on LE and XLE models. The Anti-Theft Device features an engine immobilizer. Safety equipment included are daytime running lights, a front passenger seat belt warning system and a panic button for the remote keyless entry system. Several optional Upgrade Packages and Extra Value Packages are available for all models. A Towing Package and Aluminum Wheels are also available options.

2000 Maxima

Completely redesigned this year, the 2000 Maxima is bigger, more powerful, more refined, and LESS expensive than the previous Maxima, last redesigned in 1995. Yes, the price has actually gone down on SE and GLE models while the base GXE model is priced the same but has more standard equipment.

1999 Honda Accord

The Accord was completely redesigned for 1998. Sharp edges and rounded corners lend an understated, refined look, while an aggressive stance gives it the air of a European sedan. The nose is short, the hood and cowl are low, which complement the glassy cabin to provide excellent visibility from inside.

2003 Honda Element

1999 Lexus RX 300

While most sport-utilities require a step up and sports cars require ducking down, the RX300 allows you to slide straight in. Once in, drivers are treated to comfortable seats and a beautiful interior. Ours came in an elegant light beige leather.

1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata

When the Miata was introduced in the summer of 1989 conventional wisdom said nobody wanted an inexpensive sports car. So much for conventional wisdom. . . . The Miata not only captured the hearts of driving enthusiasts longing for the days of the classic British roadster, it became the must-have fashion accessory of the day. In the beginning dealers routinely charged, and people willingly paid, thousands above the suggested retail price for Mazdas little roadster. The feeding frenzy soon ended; nevertheless, the shifting dollar-to-yen exchange rate eventually boosted the cars suggested retail price to feeding-frenzy levels. While sales have trailed off, the Miata remains the worlds best-selling roadster. The 1997½ Miata will be the last of its current body style.

2000 Camry

Camry grilles, bumpers, and taillights were new, along with multireflector headlamps and self-propping hoods. XLE models added imitation wood interior trim, and the XLE V6 adopted standard 16-inch wheels. The CEs 4-cylinder engine gained 3 horsepower. A Solara convertible joined the coupe in midseason, in three versions: 4-cylinder SE, SE V6, and SLE.
