Winback: Covert Operations for Nintendo 64
Despite a plot that's pure Van Damme, Koei's cinematic shooter emphasizes stealth over blam-blam-blam.When terrorists invade a military installation and seize control of a super-powerful satellite that can liquidate anything on earth, the secretary of defense calls in the crack counterinsurgency team known as "S.C.A.T." Shot down while flying to the base, your character ? Jean-Luc Cougar ? finds himself very alone, with only a few hours to complete his mission before the terrorists strike again. As Jean-Luc, you have to infiltrate the base and win back (Get it?) control of the satellite. Along the way you'll have to find missing teammates and eliminate the many terrorists in your way.

Mario Kart for Nintendo 64
Put the pedal to the metal in this worthy successor to that Super NES classic, Super Mario Kart. Mario Kart 64 boasts great graphics, tons of unique power-ups and a stunning 3-D version of the legendary Battle Mode. Great control -- a trademark of all games from Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto -- will bring you back time and time again for free-wheeling fun! Mario Kart 64 races eight familiar faces, including Mario, Bowser and Yoshi, on four progressively tougher four-track circuits. Wide curves and gentle banks mark the Mushroom Cup tracks. Your commute gets notably tougher on the Flower Cup, though. You'll have to dodge semis rumbling on Toad's Turnpike and bounding boulders on fogbound Choco Mountain! Star Cup tracks range from the icy surfaces of Sherbet Land to the lava lakes of Bowser's Castle. The true test of karting competence, though, comes on the four tracks in Special Cup.

Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness for Nintendo 64
Dine and dash with the first lady of video games. Ms. Pac-Man first stole the hearts - and quarters - of video game fanatics way back in 1981. Now, nearly 20 years later, Namco's leading lady is gobbling ghosts again in an entertaining update of the game that made her a star. Beauty and the Beast Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness takes the ghost-dodging, pellet-munching fun of the original game and adds tough puzzles, new enemies and rich 3D landscapes. Instead of just feeding her face for the fun of it, this time Ms. Pac-Man is on a quest to recover the four Gems of Virtue which sustain Pac-World's most mysterious realms. After eating her way through desert wastelands and chilly crystal caverns, Ms. Pac-Man ultimately has to defeat an evil goblin named Mesmerelda who has captured the Pac-Princess and Pac-Professor.

Knockout Kings 2000 for Nintendo 64
Knockout Kings features 25 boxers, some who are tearing up the ring today and others who fought their way into the Boxing Hall of Fame long ago. Players can pit the greatest fighters of all time against each other in fantasy bouts full of fast-paced arcade-style boxing. In Career Mode, you begin your quest for the belt as a no-name novice with little respect. The boxer you choose determines your division, divided into three weight classes: Lightweights, Middleweights and Heavyweights. Even if you choose a boxing legend like Mohammad Ali, you'll have to recreate his rise to fame by beginning at the bottom of the ranks. Between each bout, hungry boxers can work on their offense or defense in Training Mode. The more you hit the gym the better your statistics become. A Quick Train option is available, but the most effective way to pump up your skills is to work out the old fashioned way.

Greatest Arcades Hits 1 for Nintendo 64
Arcade Greatest Hits: Midway Collection 1 is a compilation of classic video games that made their debuts in the arcades of yore. In this case, Midway's classics are: Spy Hunter, Robotron 2084, Joust, Defender, Sinistar, and Rootbeer Tapper. All six games are packaged on the one cartridge, along with arcade trivia, and an unfortunately clunky 3-D interface that nevertheless fails to diminish the shine of these classic games

Gauntlet Legends for Nintendo 64
The essential action -- team up with others, find keys, magic, runes and other items, and beat the stuffing out of anyone in your way -- remains unchanged from the arcade hit. While Gauntlet Legends for the N64 will retain the same stages at the arcade game, Midway promises a far meatier storyline, including cinema cut-scenes at the successful conclusion of a stage.

Turok Rage Wars for Nintendo 64
First, the numbers: Acclaim Studios Austin crammed Rage Wars with a mind-boggling 36 multiplayer arenas. You can go hunting as one of 17 characters, including Adon, a raptor and of course Turok himself, and toast the competition with 16 weapons, including the colorfully named Inflator and Scorpion Launcher. The 13 power-ups include invisibility, "stone skin" and "force empathy," which sounds like something our of Star Wars. For each mode, Rage Wars offers plenty of options. For example, unlike Turok 2, the "It" in Frag Tag can be armed. You'll be able to customize and save your five-weapon arsenal and set a time limit. The Gauntlet option will let you play several arenas in sequence, rather than having to pick one at a time. You can specify the skill of "bots" (CPU-controlled enemies) and, for a real test of your stalking abilities, have half a dozen gang up on your poor under-armed character. The Austin gang has infested the game with four new bot bosses.

Cruis'n Exotica for Nintendo 64
While there are many different types of racing games, one might say generally that the genre splits into two categories: one for people who know the difference between a rocker arm assembly and a cam follower chamber, and one for people who just like to burn rubber and jump things. Cruis'n Exotica falls decidedly in the latter category. You don't have to put your car together before you drive it, and you certainly aren't restricted to an oval track--or even the road, for that matter. You'll race through prehistoric jungles, the ocean floor, and even a Martian city (imagine your competition, choking on your red dust), as you perform midair stunts along the way. There are loads of exotic vehicles just waiting for a nice lead foot, as well as shortcuts, nitro boosts, and 60 tracks in all. Your friends can join in, too, thanks to the four-player, simultaneous split-screen mode.
