First, the numbers: Acclaim Studios Austin crammed Rage Wars with a mind-boggling 36 multiplayer arenas. You can go hunting as one of 17 characters, including Adon, a raptor and of course Turok himself, and toast the competition with 16 weapons, including the colorfully named Inflator and Scorpion Launcher. The 13 power-ups include invisibility, "stone skin" and "force empathy," which sounds like something our of Star Wars. For each mode, Rage Wars offers plenty of options. For example, unlike Turok 2, the "It" in Frag Tag can be armed. You'll be able to customize and save your five-weapon arsenal and set a time limit. You can specify the skill of "bots" (CPU-controlled enemies) and, for a real test of your stalking abilities, have half a dozen gang up on your poor under-armed character. The Austin gang has infested the game with four new bot bosses.

While there are many different types of racing games, one might say generally that the genre splits into two categories: one for people who know the difference between a rocker arm assembly and a cam follower chamber, and one for people who just like to burn rubber and jump things.
